Valentines Chocolate Chip Cookies

Our house is very quiet today. M left yesterday. She is gone to another province to live with her mother. When she moved in we knew this would most likely happen, but it’s still tough.

Before she left we spent one last evening baking some valentines cookies. We used my grandmother’s chocolate chip cookie recipe and added some food colouring to turn some of our cookies red and pink.

Grandma’s Chocolate Chip Cookies
Makes 4 dozen

1 cup butter
1 ½ cups brown sugar
2 eggs

2 ¼ cups flour
1 tsp baking soda

Fold in by hand:
1 cup chocolate chips

Bake 375 for about 10 minutes on a baking sheet with parchment paper.

To add the colouring, we separated the cookies into three bowls. We left one the original colour, added pink food colouring to the second bowl, and added red food colouring to the third.
